Review of Persona (1966) by Steven R — 25 Oct 2007
This is one of the few movies I consider to be close to perfection. Before this film, I was always skeptical about Bergman being a king of the close-up, but this film proves what he can do when he gets that camera right into your face.
Bibi Anderson and Liv Ullmann give performances that will blow your mind. Even if you don't like this movie, you will guaranteed walk out of it with something new, whether it its themes about the human persona, human weakness, the acting, or Bergman's ability to command the camera.
