Review of Nosferatu (1922) by Jorge G — 25 May 2009
Gloomy castles, tenebrous landscapes, ugly vampires...this is where it all began. Max Schreck's Count Orlock--a rodent-like, rail-thin and sickly-looking vampire--is such a startling figure, it's no wonder this movie has influenced similar vampires, and it continues to be thoroughly entertaining and suspenseful.
Watching this movie is an unique experience. It transports you to another world, and with scenes like Orlock's shadow tiptoeing creepily across the stairs, and his presence in the doomed ship are mind-searingly memorable.
