Review of Megan Is Missing (2011) by Liam U — 23 Jan 2012
Really interesting. This is the sort of movie that is made with the sole intent of provoking discussion. By situating the events within a horror context, certain aspects may be exaggerated for emphasis, but it still a thought-provoking message. Sure, it's blatantly bias and depicts the internet as a terribly scary place full of danger - but that's not necessarily too far from the truth. A tedious climax lets down a potentially powerful conclusion.
An interesting point is made by one of the characters - you may feel like you're safe online in the comfort of your own home, but that is not always true. Parents of teenage children would be wise to watch this, not to prompt rash reactions and the banning of computer usage, but to perhaps prompt discussion. It's basically 'Kids' for the cyber generation.
