Review of I'm Not There (2007) by Steve C — 29 Mar 2009
Despite the descriptions of this as a Dylan biopic, the film really deals with the IDEA of Bob Dylan rather than the life of the man himself. Each actor plays a distinct character, complete with different backgrounds and names, some of which actually encounter each other throughout the course of the film.
Each represents a different aspect of the Dylan mythology. Also, what's up with Richard Gere appearing in a movie and not sucking massively? Crazy! A very cool and very weird little film.
