Review of Hostel (2011) by Joe N — 12 Feb 2011
5 out of 5 stars. Hostel may very well be the best horror movie of all time. This film is unique and carries a good balance of humor, character development, violence, surprise twists and gore. Three young men are traveling Europe as they are on a mission to enjoy drinking, drugs and women.
A local suggests that they check out a country called Bratislava as American men are guaranteed sex with beautiful women there. Once they arrive, their fun abruptly comes to an end as one of the three young men suddenly goes missing.
In addition to being one of the goriest movies I have ever seen, this film is also inspired by true events. Some of the torture scenes in this movie are interesting yet still make me squeamish even after watching this movie multiple times.
The children in this movie also play an interesting role.
