Absolutely a perfect film and my favorite performances from Liz, Rock and James. Also loved that Sal Mineo and Dennis Hopper had smaller roles in the flick. I've never read the Edna Ferber book but at over 3 hours long, I have to assume that this is a pretty thorough adaptation.
This is one of those rare films that despite its length, I can sit through for repeat viewings and never get tired of it. I'm a sucker for a period piece that spans generations!
