Review of Bride of Re-Animator (1990) by Nicolas M — 10 May 2008
Not as good as the original, not so much due to it being basically the same story taken up a notch (as a lot of sequels are) but due to there being several different plot threads that seem to get forgotten for long periods of time only to be wrapped up all too quickly at the end.
That being said, the film is still a riot, Jeffrey Combs is still fantastic as Herbert West and although the plot line involving David Gale is a little undercooked and superfluous, his performance is brilliant and campy.
Like the original, the gore is so over the top it's actually comical. Good fun but suffers from trying to be more complex than it needs to be.
