Review of Basquiat (1996) by Neil T — 31 Aug 2007
Sheer genius.
If you love art and haven't seen it, FIND IT NOW!!
I mean it.
Remarkable perfomances by Bowie, Wright, Wincott, Hopper, Oldman, Del Toro and Posey. Artist-turned-Director Julian Schnabel gets brilliant performances in a really intesting love letter to late artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, who became a sensation in the 1980's but tagically died of a heroin overdose at the age of 27.
Best film of 1996.
