Review of Anon (2018) by Joe M — 14 Jul 2018
Shades of 'Minority Report' and so many other thought police type flicks, while trying to be a bit more cerebral - yet doesn't pull it off. Anon/The Girl (Syfried) is existing in the dark ether and is linked to a number of high profile murders, thus putting Sal (Owens) on the case. Kind of muddled yet intriguing and it does keep you guessing until the end - no reveal.
SCENE SPOILER ALERT.
While the film makes much of its NYC local, the very ending is ridiculous when a character walks away as if in to the sunset. It makes for a great visual BUT - the character is at the FDR Memorial on Roosevelt Island and walking in a direction that leads to no where!
